There are many variables to consider when implementing a wireless solution. Security is a significant concern, but the usability is also a major factor. Great security is a must, but if users refuse to capitalize on the technology because it does not meet their needs, then the entire investment could be lost. Some considerations that PRONETIC's Systems Integration Specialists will consider in evaluating and implementing a product are:
Security - It simply must be the first consideration. From hardware restrictions to software encryption, PRONETIC will consider every available option when providing a recommendation to the customer.
Usability - Generally entails suitability analysis for specific tasks. PRONETIC's System Integration Specialists will conduct a thorough analysis of the user environment and detail all requirements to ensure a proper fit for the end user. Some of the considerations that need to be addressed are:
OS/RAM/ROM - Which OS will be the most compatible within the customer environment? Is there a need to communicate with non-Windows OS machines? Is there a need to synchronize with specific desktop applications?
Weight/Size - How portable is portable? Will users use this as an extension of their desktop pc, or is this a primary travel agent?
Color - Color is nice, but is it necessary? If your working on Presentations, it's a must. Spreadsheet analysis may not require this feature.
Display Size/Resolution - How big is big enough? What are the options and how can the company capitalize on these features?
Expansion Slots - What other, non-standard, accessories will the user need? Perhaps a GPS or a Wireless connector?
Battery Capacity - Will a couple of hours per day do it, or will there be a need for additional capacity?
